Vancouver, British Columbia’s BAYONET DISMEMBERMENT arrive at the frontlines of the brutal death metal underground with their third EP, ‘Skull Crushed By A Tank’, out now via Iron Fortress Records on digital, CD, and MC. Across four tracks, ‘Skull Crushed By A Tank’, channels the violence, dehumanization, and mechanized brutality of 21st-century warfare into a barrage of merciless death metal.
Featuring guest vocals from Ricky Myers of Suffocation, the opening fire of title track and lead single, ‘Skull Crushed By A Tank’, delivers exactly the level of subtlety its name promises. Thunderous percussion lands with the force of syncopated mortar fire, complete with a snare drum that sustains like the ringing of post-blast tinnitus, before pivoting into a second assault driven by double-kick artillery. From there, the track descends into the final offensive, built around tactically reduced yet equally targeted strikes, creating a suffocating pressure designed for total annihilation.
BAYONET DISMEMBERMENT also enlisted Undeath’s Alex Sason for guest vocals on the track “Mutilated,” adding further firepower to the EP’s offensive. Recording and mixing duties were handled by Andre Urquidi, with final mastering carried out by Cameron “Big Chocolate” Argon. The EP’s fittingly brutal visual identity was executed by Julian Mortuus.
